Year 12 Scholarships 2019 – 9 Oct 2018

Up to 60 scholarships are available, for Year 12 students undertaking tertiary studies in 2019. Principals, teachers and careers advisors are encouraged to promote the Scholarships to eligible Year 12 students and their families.

About the scholarships

Up to 60 Scholarships are available to students currently in Year 12 who are planning to undertake tertiary studies in 2019.

Applications opened on 25 July 2018 and will close on Friday 1 February 2019.

Scholarships range in value from $600 to over $2,600. Some scholarships are one-off payments while others are paid for the duration of the student’s course/study annually.

Most of these scholarships have specific criteria, for example, financial need, Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia or undertaking a specific degree.

WHAT SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE?

Interested in a teaching degree?

  • Thirty (30) George Garibaldi Turri scholarships are available
  • Current Year 12 Victorian government school students who will be undertaking a full-time teaching degree in 2019
  • Valued at $2,680 annually for up to four years (increases annually)

 

Interested in studying fine arts?

  • Twenty (20) Ella Donald Fine Arts Memorial scholarships are available
  • Current Year 12 Victorian government school students who will be undertaking a full-time Fine Arts degree in 2019
  • Valued at $1,000 annually for the duration of the course

Are you a female Koorie student?

  • One (1) Alice Jennings scholarship is available
  • A current Year 12 female Koorie student who will be undertaking a full-time TAFE or university course in 2019 in a field that contributes to the welfare of the Koorie population (e.g. law, social work, education, psychology or applied science – health production, nursing etc.)
  • Valued at $1,000 annually for the duration of the course

 

Alexander Rushall Scholarships (not course specific)

  • Four (4) scholarships are available
  • Current Year 12 Victorian government school students who will be undertaking a degree in 2019 (no restrictions on the course)
  • Valued at $1,500 as a one-off payment

 

Do you have a parent/guardian in the Rail, Tram and Bus Union?

Ken Matthews and Glenn Moorhead Memorial Scholarships

  • Two (2) scholarships, the Ken Matthews and Glenn Moorhead Memorial scholarships (one of each), are available
  • Current Year 12 students who have a parent/guardian who is a financial member of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union, Locomotive Division, who will be undertaking full-time tertiary studies in 2019 (no restrictions on the course)
  • Valued at $600 as a one-off payment

Margaret Schofield Scholarships

  • Two (2) scholarships are available
  • Current Year 12 Victorian government school students who have demonstrated a commitment to Music Performance or Composition in recent years, and to a future career in Music Performance or Composition
  • Valued at $7,000 each as one-off payments

Francis Gregory Foundation Scholarships

  • Two (2) scholarships are available
  • Current Year 12 students who intend to undertake a full-time degree at any university in Australia in 2019
  • Valued at $6,000 annually for the duration of the course
  • Eligible students need to be residents of Victoria and live in a Farming Zone and whose parents own the property from which the main family income is derived

Dafydd Lewis Trust Scholarships

  • Multiple scholarships are available
  • Current Year 12 Victorian government school male students who will be undertaking an undergraduate degree in any field of study with the exception of Arts, Education, Music and Theology
  • Valued at $10,000 annually for three years
